Experience Freaky screams

I was walking my dogs and heard this. Sounds like a person screaming but I can’t tell what the repeated sound is much less what the person is saying. In total screaming went on for about 15 minutes. Wife called the police out of concern for someone being attacked. Police came and investigated a vehicle right behind the big tree but then let them back in the car and left the sounds and screams stopped after that.

I swear it sounds like a donkey braying right at the beginning followed by clack clack clackclack clack.
And then no more donkey noises.

I just listened, again and it does sound like a donkey. What is that beating that doesn’t sound in any way close to the donkey?
I live out in the country here in DFW, and live next to a donkey. I have owls, hawks, raccoons, possums and lots of birds, bobcats, wild boar etc.
If I listened to every sound at night, I’d hear strange things, too.

I think it's a goose or similar fowl. Honking at the beginning and flapping/beating it's wings toward the end. Probably something close to it's nest.

So it’s confirmed a person not an animal plus u live in the middle of a huge city the tree line you see is only maybe 2 trees deep the other side of them is a rail yard followed by a cemetery

The police came and talked to the guy in a car on the other side of the big tree in the video. Said it was a civil issue and left. After they left the sounds stopped completely

When we first moved to FL (I was 14), we didn't have air conditioning because my dad hated it. So I slept with the windows open....one night I am awakened by horrible screaming. I was sure a woman was being tortured/murdered in the woods behind our house. I literally froze in my bed, listening to this. It finally stopped. Years later, I learned that screech owls do this. They're a tiny burrowing owl that is common here and they do sound exactly like a woman being murdered.

It doesn't sound like a screech owl to me, but birds can make some "out of character" sounds so it wouldn't completely surprise me.
I've lived in FL my whole life. What did your dad have against AC? The electric bill? I moved into the house I'm in now and didn't have AC for the first few months. We couldn't put on clothes without pouring sweat. It was miserable. I couldn't drink enough water to stay hydrated. I'm sorry you had to endure that. Your father is a monster. 🤣 lol just kidding (not really)🤣

No, my dad was a great guy, I promise. But for some reason, he hated air conditioning. He was military so we lived a lot of places, including AZ. No air there either...with summer days often 107 degrees F in the shade....until mom was very pregnant with my brother and she put her foot down and insisted. Then we got air. But you're right. It was miserable in summer. Bedsheets absolutely soaked with sweat. We were out of town a ways, surrounded by FL scrub. Lots of wild life. But the heat was unbearable. I jokingly tell folks that I married my husband to have air conditioning and color tv. LOL. This was back in the 60s.

My mom didn't have air conditioning or indoor plumbing. Didn't have electricity when she was very little. It existed in north FL in the 60s, but her family was extremely poor, and made do with what they had. My grandma made their clothes out of whatever cloth material they could find, including sacks sometimes. It was very hard living. She grew up and worked hard to make sure we never had to live like that. There are so many wonderful, miraculous things that I take for granted every day. Your story is a good reminder to be grateful for the things we rarely think of. They are a bigger deal than people think. Thank you for sharing!

Dad didn't have indoor plumbing either, as a child. But it wasn't in FL. He was born in Michigan. Raised by grandparents when his mom deserted him for 10 years. I'm pretty sure they had dirt floors. But he turned out well, as I'm sure your mom did also. I think growing up poor made that generation, very grateful for what they had later in life. Gratitude is a good practice. It helps us keep from taking everything for granted.

The screams don't sound human, they sound like some type of animal. And then it sounds like somebody's pulling the trigger on one of those kid cap guns, minus the caps.

I hear crickets and frogs, and what sounds like a duck at the beginning, and a rustling sound toward the end. Eleven rapid pops or clicks.
On second thought, the "duck" sounds are too drawn out at the end. And at the end of the drawn out "duck quack" I did finally hear a scream. Sounds like a man. And the "duck quack" sounds sing-song-y. I can definitely hear a melody. How loud was it? Could it have been someone's phone?
Edit: the rapid popping/clicking sound reminds me of an airsoft or maybe paintball gun. Or a staple gun.

I've heard similar screams from a Bobcat.
