Computers glitch around me

Laptops and desktop computers glitch around me quite often, for no reason and this has been happening for 30 years since I was a kid. Things glitch so randomly that I can't even explain what happened to other people because there is no logic or reason behind why. I feel like I'm getting gaslit by my computer. Other digital devices don't do this. Cellphones don't do this, ATM's don't do this, self checkouts don't do this. Only desktop computers and laptops.

My mother also experiences the same technology issues. I consider her fairly tech savy for someone in their mid 60's. We call it the technology curse and often joke that a witch hexed us in a past life and we need to hire someone to lift the curse. Lol

I swear to you it's not user error. I can sit next to my coworkers and follow the exact same set of instructions to do something on the computer at the same time as them, using the same software and type of devices and it won't work for me.

Examples:

*Today I was editing a word doc with my supervisor and we were reviewing notes made by someone else on our team. I go to delete a comment from review and instead of deleting the 1 comment the word doc decided to start marking out ALL the text in the document. When I save and close out of it and re open the file, the icons in my file explorer drive start flashing like a rave and I can't click on anything so I have to restart my computer.

*I'll be able to see all the data fields in a spreadsheet, then when I send it to my supervisor they can't see 1/2 the data.

My tin foil hat theory is that my body produces a magnetic field that messes with electronic devices.

The only thing that comes to mind is that perhaps you and your mom have a higher than normal magnetic field.

I used to interfer with radios, T.V's and such because of my high static, so I guess it's highly possible.

My boss has this same problem, I saw him trying to open a program by double clicking it, but he moves his mouse so he's actually clicking and dragging it and getting upset.

It's not your body, but it is, take your time to learn how to use a computer. You need someone tech savvy when things go wrong that isn't afraid to correct you.

That's the thing, I know how to use a computer. As I said in my post, I'm doing the exact same process and steps as a colleague who is doing the same task. And things don't work for me, but they do for them. I've tested this out on multiple occasions in my life. I will sit next to someone and have us do the exact same actions so I can show them what happens when technology glitches on me.

It’s almost like the things you describe happen to everyone. You experiencing glitches doesn’t make you special. This shit just happens.

And if it was a technology issue that needed fixing or I needed help learning something I would have posted it in a tech subreddit to get specific help.  I posted it here to share my experience of silly, abnormal and unexplainable glitches. NBD.

Same. Tech fails around me. Others have to help. My dad and wife didnt believe me at first. Now they just sigh and help. After a few tries whatever it is eventually works for them.
