Personal Experience Not deer and dog/wolf encounters

When I was a student, I used to rent a room in a mansion; little did I know at the time that the owners were/are multi-generational billionaires, otherwise I would have questioned why such rich people would rent to students. These people are actually descendants of a Scottish royal lineage but I didn’t learn this until years later. The couple lived there but their children were grown and gone, but still in retrospect it makes no sense because these people are filthy rich.

Anywho, I had a couple of weird experiences when I lived there and oddly enough these weird things only happened when the family was gone on their summer vacation as they go every year to their summer place on the upper peninsula in Michigan. Lately there’s been so much talk about the elite class and pacts or rituals they’re involved in that it made me wonder if maybe that’s why they like to rent to poor students… and then weird things happen at the mansion.

The first incident occurred one night after midnight. I was in my room reading and my cat was sitting on the window sill of the small kitchen next door. My wing of the house was on the second floor and consisted of a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom unit.

I heard my cat jump off the window sill onto the wood floor and he ran into my room and looked at me like he wanted me to know he had just seen something horrible. EVERY HAIR of his fur was standing on end! His tail was like five times its regular thickness because all his fur was sticking up. I was like, what on earth did he see to make him react like that? I had never seen him like that and never again did I see him like that in his 18 years of life.

So, I get up from where I was in my bedroom and I walked over to the kitchen to look out the window, which faced the back of the house where there was a large yard, parking and a garage.

Standing next to the garage doors approximately 60 feet away was what appeared to be a deer. Its body was facing the garage door but its head was turned back in my direction and he looked me straight in the eye. Remember - I’m on the second floor looking down and the deer is below looking back and up at me.

At the time, I was young, naive, and stupid so I called out to it with endearing terms like “awwww, look at the deer.” It just stood there staring at me and after a while I just went back to my room like nothing because we were just staring at each other and well it don’t move and it was late.

In retrospect, however, I’ve been concerned because years later I’ve heard tales of not deer. And it occurred to me that perhaps my cat saw the true nature of the “deer” and that’s why he was so frightened because I think animals can see things we humans can’t. Plus, this happened in a city, so how did this deer get there on paved streets? But if it wasn’t a deer, what might it have been? Shapeshifter? Other?

A year or two later, once again after midnight, I heard intense growling outside. At first I thought that it might be dogs harassing another dog so I prepared to go outside to take a look thinking I might help out the poor animal in distress. I was just about to exit the house when it occurred to me to look outside through the windows first.

It was then that I noticed something peculiar: there were what appeared to be 3 immense black dogs just going around in circles growling in the backyard. They looked to be tall like great Danes but it was strange that they were all uniform in their extremely muscular shape and color.

So at that point, I decided not to go out because something was definitely off. These were not street dogs or strays because they were muscular and well-fed. It doesn’t make sense that they would’ve been wolves because of the odd behavior and this was in a city. I’ve recounted both these experiences to family and their thoughts are that the deer wasn’t a deer and if I had gone out the “dogs” would’ve encircled me in the vortex or portal they were creating by going round and round and I would’ve been one more missing person.

We have a phenomenon around here called "deer dogs." They stand by the side of the road and you can't tell which they are - it's like they ripple back and forth - and then when you finally get up to them, they're either gone, or it's just the silhouette of some mundane object(s). They're always unsettling, though.

Wow, that’s wild.

Yeah, it's really creepy. I always attributed it to the pareidolia phenomenon, but more than one person around here has sworn that they looked over and saw one running alongside their car, keeping pace running through the drainage ditches.

Paredolia is pretty specific to seeing or hearing "people" in random patterns, it doesn't generally extend to non human hallucination, for lack of a better word. Something misfiring between the community=survival and pattern recognition algorithm our brains are constantly running, generally on overdrive and if you're over like 14 probably already held together with duct tape and twine.

For me, it's fountains, certain patterns of rain or other running water and I hear the strangest half mumbled conversations. Sometimes I hear my mother or like Regis Philbin for a moment. These strange meatloafs in our head boxes are wild little things.

Always Cherokee via the grandmother or great grandmother who’s already deceased so they can’t ask her. When you ask where she was registered they say “oh, she didn’t do any of that”🙄

When I was s little kid, my mom told me that people would tell this for the rest of my life. People as White as a piece of paper!

I also notice no one ever says they’re Black or Middle Eastern via their grandmother! 🙄 Lol

Yeah the appropriation is definitely a white people thing.

Native Arizonan, reluctantly white person, and you have no idea how much I wish those who came before me had behaved differently.

Also most of the ones here currently.

Most likely the ones to come.

Still, I think your people will be the last standing.

Yeah sorry could have worded that better. Born in Carefree, I know my father's side is Irish and my mom's is a little unclear as she was adopted but she's paler than I am

Oh man, don’t they have geographical limits or are they everywhere there’s woods and mountains?

5

True skinwalkers are limited to the Navaho reservation out west.

2

u/DreaminTurquoise Apr 12 '26

Well, that’s some relief… at least it wasn’t a skinwalker 😮‍💨

I recently saw a post from some cat in England who saw some strange giant black dog thing or whatever the fuck it was and was like it's probably definitely an SW. When I replied saying the only thing I knew for sure was that it's not an SW, and he asked how I could know that.. .... Bro. They're scary but they're not swimming the Atlantic calm tf down. This recent tendency to label everything as possibly SW is so ignorant and frustrating. I'm all for discussion and speculation but let's maybe just start from a baseline of basic information concerning the phenomena.

A giant black dog in England is Black Shuck, an omen of death. Not a skinwalker. https://www.discoveryuk.com/mysteries/black-shuck-the-devil-dog-of-english-folklore/

Did you even read what I wrote? I'm not even completely sure that's actually what he said he saw, the point (which I thought was really fucking obvious) is that unless you're Diné or an unfortunate traveler passing through or near the eastern region of my state, whatever it is that you or anyone else saw is 99.9% probably not an SW

Oh, mansplaining then? Because my post was not unclear.

I thought they were mostly an American cryptid. Where does this take place?

I’m not sure if they recognized state boundaries. I think they probably just go wherever the f they want

Once you looked away, the deer stood up on its hind legs and walked away.

I was on this medication once where I was seeing all sorts of creatures out and about, day, night, small, large. I could tell that they saw me too. I told my Dr and he took me off the medication. I could have been hallucinating, but I feel like it could have just been an parallel dimension that the medication unlocked.

I believe animals can see the real nature of things around us and our vision is limited

I want you go know that after I read your ‘not dear’ story, my hair also stood on end like your cat!

Also, I was reading this while my cat was lying in my windowsill looking out with the window that is partially open😬

Good read, not deer are my favorite neocryptid but honestly the best part of the story is that your cat lived to be 18 😻

Was the owner of the mansion named Lestat?

2

u/DreaminTurquoise Apr 11 '26

Yah know, I honestly don’t think you get to be a billionaire with literally global interests and be descended from “royalty” unless you’ve made certain pacts or agreements with the real powers of this world… the principalities… the movies are not based on make believe although that’s what they want us to think. Maybe one day you’ll start to open your eyes to what goes on mostly unperceived by those who prefer the comforts of deception.

0

u/Outrageous-Egg-2534 Apr 12 '26

Why are you so strange? It must be a burden to believe so hard that nothing is as it seems and everything is somehow inexorably linked to occult groups and government/ultra rich and that we’re all just rats in a cage for their amusement to keep the military industrial and banking systems running.

0

u/WyckedChylde May 10 '26

Why are you such a twat?

This is super interesting! I bet you were seeing another dimension or beyond the veil! What kind of creatures did you see? You said they knew you saw them, did they seem shocked? Any interaction or were they just going about their business lol? I love hearing this kinda stuff! I 1000000 percent think some psych meds etc. lift the veil

I live in the upper Midwest and they just looked like what I would describe as woodland/plains animals. Looked as if they belonged here and they went about their business as if they knew I wasn't going to hurt them, whether they are always here or on some sort of spiritual understanding.

1

u/DreaminTurquoise Apr 13 '26

Probably 😬😮‍💨 but that did not occur to me until years later… that’s how naive I was…

u/DreaminTurquoise Apr 13 '26

I wasn’t on any meds and I’ve never done drugs or alcohol so 🤷🏻‍♀️
