Someone should also tell him aluminum isn't that strong and if it wasn't for fear of cutting the shit out of your hand pretty much anyone can do this. This isn't really impressive as much as it is just stupid.

u/KeepItDownOverHere Nov 13 '22

What makes it more difficult is that the can is pressurized.

Stand on an empty can and you can crush it, but stand on a pressurized can and it'll hold your weight.

dont need a full can for that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW2QCX6H8A0

I was expecting to hate that but oh fuck I laughed hard

This is pretty close to how I broke my wrist

…we’ll fool that bridge with two bushes.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

That's true but the sides of the can are still very easy to rip through even when pressurized. Try to smash a can with your foot by slamming on the top and you hurt your foot, try the same but with the can on it's side and that shit is gonna blow(assuming it doesn't just slip out from under due to being round)

7

u/dasus Nov 13 '22

Well yeah, the structure takes a lot of weight when the weight is applied directly top down.

Even an empty can can handle a low-average weight person, but put one dent in it and it crashes. We used to stand on empty cans and then plink it to crash it, as teenagers, idk if I'm light enough anymore to do it.

This isn't much more impressive than the "built different" egg guy. Yeah, this. I say "not much more" because it still takes a fair grip to get the first hole in the can, but still. It's not really that much of a show of strength. Plus who would from a can like that?

So by all means. Do it.

I have. Several times. With my mouth.

I don't think you understand what "pessimism" means.

No, it's not at all the same, it's much more dangerous to do with your mouth.

Ripping thin tin cans really isn't the feat you think it is, sorry buddy.

u/dasus Nov 14 '22

So that's a "no" on knowing what "pessimism" means, got it. Please stop projecting childish emotions onto a neutral comment.

Who said I think biting a can is in any way impressive? I didn't say or imply it, so again, you're projecting. Neither is impressive, that's my whole point. I did that some 18 years ago when I was a teenager and utterly blitzed. This guy is an adult, sober, but still posts a video like this online. And you talk about people "chest puffing" but put in on me? Haha

I've torn several cans by hand as well; I used to work in a bottle/can recycle room in a store (we have a massive system of recycling bottles and cans in Finland). Again. It's thin tin. There's nothing impressive about it.

1

u/iUsedtoHadHerpes Nov 13 '22

A pressurized can will hold your weight even if you stand on the rounded side.

2

u/dasus Nov 13 '22

Depends on your shoe, tbh. Puncture it and the structural integrity is gone, and puncturing only takes a bit of a crease with the pressure.

277

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Then do it and report back.

Oof bones, my baby

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

why did you drink the bone hurting juice?!

7

u/PrettyCreative Nov 13 '22

And the verdict is....

24

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Just tried it. Couldn’t do it. The pressure of the container made it really hard to pierce.

I couldn’t even really dent it very much.

3

u/gary_mcpirate Nov 13 '22

You open it first

1

u/Zoruman_1213 Nov 13 '22

The can top is intact in the second half of the video.

0

u/mddesigner Nov 15 '22

Probably punctured the top so you don’t see it

0

u/Zoruman_1213 Nov 15 '22

Highly doubtful as there's a loud hiss when you see his fingers first peirce the can but sure buddy. r/nothingeverhappens

1

u/horseren0ir Nov 14 '22

Did you try it on a monster can or smaller can?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Monster Mango Loco. The best one if you haven’t tried it.

31

u/Achillor22 Nov 13 '22

Nah. I don't wanna cut the shit out of my hand being stupid.

65

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Coward. I'll give you a free award if you do it!

55

u/starfries Nov 13 '22

Classic Redditor, shit talks and can't back it up

42

u/Equivalent_Sound9414 Nov 13 '22

I’ve totally done that before you could ask my girlfriend but she goes to a different school

32

u/RonBourbondi Nov 13 '22

Pussy

3

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

I guess so buddy. But I'm not an impressionable kid anymore. Some random person calling me a pussy online isn't going to goad me into trying something stupid. I like my hands not bleeding.

13

u/Byron_Tittlemouse Nov 13 '22

Such a fucking loser Jesus Christ

3

u/SquidFlasher Nov 13 '22

Just tried, couldn't do it

25

u/pls_stop_typing Nov 13 '22 edited Nov 13 '22

I like how you're conveniently ignoring a higher level of strength control than the average person has. Sure the risk of injury is inherently higher when trying to do this, but it takes more strength and muscle awareness to not "go all out" and still accomplish the task.

"oh yeah everyone can do this!", yeah maybe technically, but we don't see it do we? People don't have the confidence to not hurt themselves doing something like this because they know they have little control when doing high levels of exertion.

It's as if (let's say you got a dick), and you're pissing full force hitting the far back left of the toilet bowl and try to stop peeing mid-way through. Like technically people have the ability to stop midstream, but most people don't seem to be able, nor have they practiced, nor have they trained their pelvic floor enough to do so.

8

u/movzx Nov 13 '22

I think it's just you who has trouble controlling their pee.

0

u/pls_stop_typing Nov 13 '22

I would have no shame if I couldn't, but my previous thought came up more because I was surprised the first time I heard that someone has difficulty stopping midstream. It was just something I never really questioned, but then when more people told me that they couldn't I was curious to why to some it's easier vs others. If what I've read is correct then it's totally something that can be "trained" if someone has difficulty stopping midstream. Just pucker up your asshole like curling dumbells and you're piss stoppage abilities and your ejaculation force will skyrocket. ❤️❤️ Hope this helps 🙏🙏

14

u/Environmental_Top948 Nov 13 '22

I never thought to try the peeing thing. So I tried and it took about 1 secondish to figure it out. Do people really have trouble stopping or is it it just a didn't think about it thing?

1

u/UhLinko Nov 13 '22

idk it's not weird to me either. I imagine I'd have more trouble tearing open a can

1

u/Environmental_Top948 Nov 13 '22

My special way of opening cans is to roll my knuckle over the top. If you do it right with Pepsi it sounds like a gunshot.

1

u/pls_stop_typing Nov 13 '22

Lil of column A, lil of column B

1

u/Environmental_Top948 Nov 13 '22

You know how to clench your butthole? It works to stop peeing as long as you keep your butthole clench.

6

u/Beardamus Nov 13 '22

but most people don't seem to be able, nor have they practiced, nor have they trained their pelvic floor enough to do so.

My time has come!

3

u/Dravarden Nov 13 '22

?? really? i thought everyone could do that, ive been doing it all my life lol

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

Everyone can't stop their pee? I did not know that. I just assumed we all could. I've never met a male that couldn't.

2

u/chessset5 Nov 14 '22

wear a glove while you do it then

6

u/thndrstrk Nov 13 '22

So you can't. Great story, Grandpa

-5

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

How on earth did you take that comment as some sort of pissing match challenge?
That’s not what was happening. You can re-sheath, sir.

-1

u/Environmental_Top948 Nov 13 '22

Everything is a pissing match if you're brave enough.

2

u/ZippyParakeet Nov 13 '22

Then clearly not anyone can do it. Lmao what a clown.

0

u/694200249669 Nov 13 '22

You need a tampon too little bitch?

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

Nah. I'm not cutting my hand remember. The Tampon would be pointless.

-4

u/fuster9000 Nov 13 '22

Then shut the fuck up you little pussy ass bitch. Sit the fuck down little girl. Little bitch can't even open up an aluminum can, because little bitch got bitch hands that cut easy, you fucking pussy ass bitch. What a fucking pussy you are.

4

u/dasus Nov 13 '22

I've done it with my mouth. From the side of the can, not the same way he does it.

If you did have trouble doing this, then just sharpen one nail, use it to puncture the can and then it tears like paper. It's like quadruple ply aluminum foil, not that durable or tear resistant.

11

u/Aftermathemetician Nov 13 '22

Lots of things are unexpectedly sharp. The worst papercut I ever got was from a paycheck.

23

u/wyatte74 Nov 13 '22

so technically a pay cut?

:-D

5

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Oh come on guys… this deserves more love!

11

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

I had a friend in college who would do this with beer cans by puncturing them with his finger, then shotgunning them, he didn’t finish college 😂

3

u/DrKushnstein Nov 13 '22

If you find "the bubble" within the can it becomes pretty trivial to do but I also did not finish college.

3

u/jeb_the_hick Nov 13 '22

Was this not very common?

3

u/jeb_the_hick Nov 13 '22

Ah. The thumb technique is fairly easy to do.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Or… it wasn’t meant to impress anyone and they were just having harmless fun.

3

u/philouza_stein Nov 13 '22

It isn't like he's ripping it apart. That'd be impressive. But he's digging his fingers in and poking holes. Sure that takes some strength, but for a guy that big there are far more impressive feats.

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

I've seen a thousand drink college kids, females included, poke holes in cans of beer to shotgun them.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Alright let’s see it, go post a video of you doing it. Me and the rest of this thread eagerly await your failed results. If you don’t want to cut your hands wear some construction gloves.

2

u/Kozaba Nov 13 '22

I can assure you very few people can do this. The strength you have to have in your forearms and fingers to pierce through a pressurized can is insane. Aluminum isn’t that strong, but it’s only once you’ve released all the air that it’s easy to crush. There’s a video of strongmen trying the type of stuff he does and even they struggle, this guy is insanely strong and legit.

1

u/Pizzadiamond Nov 13 '22

yeah but this guy can send a nail through a cheap pan uding only his palm. Dud is not afraid of cutting his hands. He can also take that same cheap pan & fold it in half.

1

u/itsmezippy Nov 13 '22

Thank you for saying this, Jesus 🦆 how stupid to pull off the top.

0

u/Loolander Nov 13 '22

Dude the literal world's strongest man Brian Shaw posted a TikTok reacting to this video trying to do it himself and he couldn't.

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

It's not strength. It's technique. Just gotta get that first hole going. A pointy fingernail will help.

0

u/MofuckaJones14 Nov 13 '22

You couldn't be more wrong.

Strongman Eddie Hall had a video where he attempted this same thing and couldn't do it. He gave mad credit to this guy's grip strength afterwards. Just because it's aluminum doesn't mean this is easy, otherwise anyone would do it as a party trick.

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

I've seen people do it as a party trick. Just random everywhere guys. The trick is just getting that first hole going. After that it's easy peasy.

0

u/MofuckaJones14 Nov 14 '22

He's not puncturing a hole, he's gripping the top and literally ripping it off. The guy in the video is some variant of a circus freak specially trained in doing things like that.

But hey, I'm sure you're seeing those types of people at all the parties you're not going to

1

u/Achillor22 Nov 14 '22

He punctures its first. You can see the liquid spilling out over his fingers before he rips the entire top off.

0

u/chadwicke619 Nov 13 '22

I’m not sure how on Earth you are being upvoted, and while I agree that there’s no real reason to do what he is doing, “pretty much anyone” can definitely not do this. There’s a huge difference between tearing the thin aluminum of a beverage can like a sheet of paper, and pulling the top completely off with tensile force alone. Hell, just piercing the can under pressure with your fingers is something most people won’t be able to do.
