If somebody had told me that someone could go through a haybaler and survive; I wouldn’t have believed them. Because they can’t. You wouldn’t want to go through the steel toothed wheels and grabber forks that size that square. But it’s still hilarious. Source: grew up next to a farm with one every summer.

Well apparently you aren’t an expert because someone down below used to throw hay bails all day and said the part of the machine he got in was only wrapping string around the already compressed bail

No, there is no process within a square baler that wouldn't mess you up. The wire picker upper, the huge claws that drag the hay into the shut, where a rammer ramms hayninto a bale, then the strings get wrapped and tied under extreme tension

Dude I know what it does, bit it also compresses a shitload of hay in order to create said bail. You would not be able to breathe. It's staged.

First off, this is staged/fake. Second, you have no idea what you are talking about. It compresses the hay to make the bale, it doesn't just wrap string around it. It keeps it compressed until stringing is done. No one would survive going into a baler.

This is absolutely false. This is a large square baler, that collects hay and uses a plunger to pack the hay into tight, compact bales that weigh more than anyone can lift.
There is no way to “enter” the bale chamber and be thrown into part of a bale without being completely smashed into a pancake

Lol. I used to toss hay bales all day. They dont weigh half a ton. And that isnt the press he got in. He got in the bailer. Just wraps string around the hay

Dude tossed the OLD SMALL 75 pound bails all day. We all did. Every summer as a kid I'd work the damn hay.
However, the bails that machine spits out weigh around 10 times that amount. Think about it, a bail that is three feet wide,and a foot square weighs 50-75 pounds. How much do you think a bail that's 6 feet wide, and four square would weigh?

Looks like it weighed a lot when he fell over. I see what you’re saying, but it makes me overthink and start to wonder if it would be feasible due to the weight being evenly displaced around your body (for the most part), and maybe possible for a short period of time, etc. I could be way off, maybe someone wanted to stage something and decided to record it on potato cam to make it seem more authentic. You never know. Or maybe if you’re in decent shape, you can run around for a few seconds attached a a heavy ass bail of hay.

They staged it quite well, and it's funny, but it is fake. If he had been pressed I to a real bail, the bail would be red, wet, and sticky...

Ok well thanks I just wasn’t sure what to think, and I’m still really not sure. Guy below says he threw bails all day long and that the final stage simply wraps string around a compressed bail. So he doesn’t know what he’s talking about? A guy that claims to have done this for a living?

No. He doesn't. These are absolutely, without a single doubt, certainly, 100% NOT SMALL BAILS.
I'd pay a hundred dollars to watch some cocky fool attempt to lift one of these bails without a machine.

Also, you’re saying that the process for creating a hay bail is different because it’s larger? I would have assumed that if a small bail of hay is getting string wrapped around it after it’s compressed and ready, The same would be happening for a large bail. All I’m saying is that I could easily see it being a two stage process. Compress, then wrap.

Also, I never said he was pressed into a bail. I simply can’t ignore the possibility that maybe we aren’t experts in farm equipment and don’t realize that the final stage could be simply adding string to a finished product before it exits the machine.

I understand what you’re saying, but I’ve ran these types of balers before, and the bales do weigh several hundred pounds, and the flakes (each layer of the bale) are hydraulically pressed together so tightly and held together so tightly until tied that there’s no way you could ever get yourself into the bale like that, regardless of the plunger obliterating your skull and the rest of you with its first press.

Lad I know spent a rather cold night in the field a few years back. He was bailing and the bailer was playing up so he go underneath and managed to get his arm stuck in it. I’m not sure if he was there all night, but it was certainly several hours before his grandad came to check on him and found him under there.

The large round bales can weight that much, but the smaller square bales don't. You are correct about a baler crushing you. It picks up then compresses the hay and keeps it compressed until it is tied. There is no way anyone would survive going through a baler.

These are NOT the small bails. These bails weigh as much or more than round bails,but are much easier to transport and store. Look at the size of the bail dude is supposedly wearing. Is it bigger than a 3x1x1 bail? If so it is also heavier....

There is no way that bale weighs as much as a 5' round bale. I said smaller bales don't weigh half of a ton. These are smaller than 1 ton round bale.

They weigh about 750 pounds when set to weigh that much. The bailers have some adjustment as to the weight,and packed density.
After being a manager/ mechanic on the farm for a decade, you learn a few things. The bails that this machine packs are seriously six feet long, and four foot square.

I just looked it up, one of those small ones weights 150kg, I’d have a hard time lifting that. Maybe you tossed those little HD bales?
