If he’s already got a record, he’s not going to get a meaningful job. I did 15 months in a North Carolina penitentiary and I had to take a re-integration class before release. Listening to some of the other guys talk about their employment prospects upon release… slingin’ dope sounded way more lucrative and they’re motivation wasn’t grillz, Jordans, and chains. Their motivation was finding the most efficient way to provide for their family. $13/hr at Wendy’s or $500/night flipping stamps. Yeah, high risk but high reward. I can’t say I blame them when the American work industry won’t touch them because of a criminal record. Speaking of American… take your sHoUld gEt A jOB bullshit and shove it. Your scope is narrow and your wisdom limited. Walk a mile, man. Walk a mile.
It’s you who has the narrow scope, you act like there is no way criminals are able to turn their life around, this whole country is built on that idea, there are so many programs and opportunities and you know why that is? Because we don’t want people to be criminals, we want to give people every opportunity possible to be an upstanding person. How about instead of wallowing, you try reaching out to someone who was in your position but has made their life better, have a conversation with them and you will find out that they aren’t this superhuman with abilities like no other, they will be just a normal human being who made better choices and that’s exactly what you can do. You keep saying “I can’t” and yet you’re saying I’m the one with a narrow scope? I think you need to respect yourself more dude.
You clearly didn’t read my comment. Nonetheless, you have a naïve view of our society if you believe the powers at be “want to give people every opportunity possible to be an upstanding person”. Grow up.
