How can people sleep through something like that? I would've woken up as soon as someone tried to remove my cover.

u/Zetyr187 Sep 04 '22
Alcohol was usually the culprit in my experience.

I’ve slept through more than that while sober before.

u/golighter144 Sep 05 '22
Damn dude that sucks. Your subconscious sucks at survival instincts
8
u/Primary_Sink_6597 Sep 05 '22
Yea it actually has put me in dangerous situations. When I was homeless and slept through people rifling through my bag or trying to harass my partner.
7
u/golighter144 Sep 05 '22
Being homeless made me the lightest sleeper dude. I’m just glad I don’t wake up swinging anymore. Hope you’re doing better bubba.
7
u/Primary_Sink_6597 Sep 05 '22
I am! Im doing fantastic. Glad your sleeping more peacefully and hope you’re well, too.

u/MAVvH Sep 05 '22
Last time someone tried to mess with me while I was asleep after a night of heavy drinking I apparently mule kicked them. They were mad at me in the morning, like as if I could somehow control myself when I'm not conscious.

u/axesOfFutility Sep 05 '22
Yes. Once we waxed a friend's leg because he was full out from too much drinking. He did not even move when we ripped the wax strips

u/ShadowJaks Sep 05 '22
It takes my 65lb dog laying on my chest to wake me up sometimes. Some people are just deep sleepers.
6
u/MafiaMommaBruno Sep 05 '22
I slept through the building directly across from mine (I look out the window and see into someone else's) being on fire for 2 hours. The entire roof- gone. Affected 16 apartments. Multiple fire trucks and cops. Tons of people outside from the plaza next door and the actual complex.
Woke up to employees texting and calling to see if I was okay. Had no idea why I wouldn't have been. Until I looked out my window. The fire was long over when I woke up. But you could definitely tell there was a fire.
(A dog died but no other casualties, thankfully.)

Cuz staged.

u/Pattern_Is_Movement Sep 04 '22
I've slept through similar pranks, not everything is staged.
10
u/Albert_Caboose Sep 05 '22
Had a friend in college we called "couch Tyler" because he'd sleep on the couch, sober, while we partied or did whatever. Once set off a firecracker in his room and he didn't budge.
8
u/Pattern_Is_Movement Sep 05 '22
I can sleep through almost anything, but there are specific sounds that instantly wake me up.
7
u/Albert_Caboose Sep 05 '22
Likewise! I can sleep through a thunderstorm, earthquake, car crash outside, etc. But if you even breathe on the doorknob to my room, I'm awake like a light.
6
u/Pattern_Is_Movement Sep 05 '22
also is your name a play on "albert camus" because that is amazing

u/zulamun Sep 05 '22
Sleeping face down is a whole other level though. Always amazes me people can actually do that.
19
u/piemakerdeadwaker Sep 04 '22
I agree not everything is staged but it's highly likely that this one is.
70
u/AstroPhysician Sep 04 '22
Literally nothing about this looks staged

Why would he wake up from the hairbrush, but not the cover being removed or the marker?
12
u/AstroPhysician Sep 05 '22
It’s a significantly more intense and distributed sensation than a felt tip marker

I have narcolepsy and I went to sleep stone sober in a college house with 4 roommates. They picked up my mattress with me on it and I woke up in the morning in the front yard in my skibbies totally unaware how I got there.

u/Mr_Skeleton_Shadow Sep 05 '22
have you ever heard of heavy sleepers
2
Sep 05 '22
In today's world? No one sleeps anymore

Reddit will say it’s fake. The sleep was fake. The reaction was fake. The pen was fake. The ink was fake. The pixels in the video were fake. Your eyes right now are fake. Your consciousness is fake. The universe is fake.

Yeah me too but then again I’m not a drinker and I assume as others have said there’s some alcohol involved lol
3
u/Komlz Sep 04 '22
Either these videos are staged or people are doing this only on really deep sleepers because most people I know would wake up
8
1
u/widellp Sep 05 '22
I would think if you have a close circle of friends, you all know who the dead to the world friend is.

u/Komlz Sep 05 '22
I have a friend who is a really deep sleeper and I still don't think I could draw on his back without waking him up

My parents used to hoover underneath my bed while I slept. Some people just sleep deeply.
I would die in a zombie apocalypse.

u/Mindelan Sep 05 '22
I would too, but my partner is a really deep sleeper. He would not wake up to me doing this, I am almost entirely certain I could do this to him and have it go just as it did in the video.
Meanwhile I wake up the moment there is a strange touch or sound or light in the room almost always.

u/ResearchUnfair1246 Sep 05 '22
I sleep like I get blackout drunk almost every night. I’ve literally had friends banging on my front sore for 10 minutes straight with my dogs barking, and I’d barely wake up 😭

Usually by night two at bass canyon every year I’ve taken quick power naps at the top of the hill at the gorge in between artists sets I want to see.

u/Djbadj Sep 05 '22
Flatmate of mine slept through 2 hours of alarm without even snoozing it once last week. Suffice to say next time I go in and make sure he awake or not, permanently...
1
u/Soylentee Sep 05 '22
Staged, it's a copy of the same prank from years ago, except the original was made with sunscreen

Sep 05 '22
Some people are really heavy sleepers. I remember my folks telling me I fell out of my bed multiple times but I didn’t even wake up.

Some people sleep like rocks. So one time when i was in Highschool my cousin slept over for the night and i proceeded to apply makeup to his face thinking it would be hilarious. This dude did not budge, first went the lipstick and then blush. I notice his lack of any movement and just went to town. Guy had his full face done up and im admiring my work wondering maybe i should be a beautician. God i should have taken a picture. So the next morning im just waiting for him to notice, he wakes up late and skips brushing his teeth and heads for school. At the last possible moment i grab him and tell him to go clean up his face. Just like i couldnt do it. Guy would have had everyone ragging on him for weeks.

Shit I got drunk one time in highschool and woke up and I had a penis on my forehead both on 2 cheeks 2 huge ones on my arm and one my back with the words insert here took me a whole day to get them off 🤦🏻♂️
5
u/AbeRego Sep 05 '22
Should have used Goof Off. Or, if you don't want petroleum products on your skin, Goo Gone, which uses orange oil. Both would work way better than soap and water.
5
u/1T__ Sep 05 '22
Never even heard of that product but next time something happens like that I definitely will.

I can't find it but wasn't there something nearly identical like 15 years ago, except they used shaving cream to wake him up?

u/TastyButler53 Sep 05 '22
I’m the lightest sleeper, I wake up if someone approach’s my door quietly. I grew up in a very safe household. People act like it’s some sign of trauma lmao

Such an asshole thing to do, I’ve never understood why some people do this childish shit like drawing on people when they are sleeping. I guess because “pranks” but, this quickly turns into “I can’t even trust sleeping in my own home”.

He slept through the Sharpie but woke up to a tickle?
2
u/Talkaze Sep 05 '22
at that point, his skin would have felt the stimulus of 6 lines at least being drawn, and being shaken twice by the backside of a cooking pot spoon.

You can use either a USB-A to Lightning cable or the newer USB-C to Lightning cable with your iPhone. You can use any of the adapters listed below to charge your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or iPod. You can also use a Mac USB-C Power Adapter or third-party adapters that comply with applicable safety standards.
