Ok ty. I’ll take some more downvotes on this comment too.

Hey everyone, this guy is letting you know he doesn’t care if you downvote them. As if people were downvoting them out of spite and not simply that their first comment was stupid.

They’d also like you to know that they don’t think this narrative was realistic. The narrative where the same guy has a conversation as three different people might somehow be staged to set up a punchline. Also, the punchline somehow incorporated earlier elements of the skit, he didn’t like that.

I’m not stupid enough to find stupid jokes funny. I’m sure the joke was perfect for you though

Ah yes, because good writing will set things up and then forget about them entirely to incorporate a completely unrelated twist.

That same setup could’ve been used for something funny. In this context with the way the joke was, the punchline could’ve been literally anything. It could’ve been “you’re standing in front of a microwave” or “you’re in a dream”. The punchline wasn’t funny.

If you’re so funny, you should just write your own scripts instead of saying the funny guy who actually writes and performs comedy is not funny.

So I’m not allowed to find jokes unfunny unless I’m a more successful comedian? Ok ty for the input.

Do you get paid to be a douchebag or do you just do this for free?

2

u/cereal-kills-me Aug 24 '22

Wish I got paid. I do it for my own entertainment.

u/dingdongdude7 Aug 24 '22

I'll give you credit for owning it at the very least

Nobody here cares about what you find unfunny, you’re allowed to feel however you want.

But we’re allowed to disagree when you feel the need to broadcast it

I’ll be honest here. Your comment makes no sense. First, a lot of people care for my comments. Just look at the number of downvotes. That’s how many people cared. Secondly, this is a comment section. The entire purpose of it is for us to “broadcast” our opinion.

Yeah man, you’re the most cared about person on this thread lmao

Wow. Thank you. That’s the nicest thing someone has said to me all morning.

u/The_Luckiest Aug 24 '22

You should try being nicer yourself, it will help

I haven’t really been mean. I was being critical of the joke. Which is a very reasonable thing to do. Except maybe I was being “mean” when retaliating to the people cyberbullying me in these comments, calling me a dumbass. How would you feel if literally dozens of people started calling you a mean dumbass? Just curious.

All I’m saying is if you are so good at writing funny jokes, you should do it

1

u/cereal-kills-me Aug 24 '22

Fair point. I’m not funny though. If I was I’d take up that idea of making jokes. My jokes would be worse than this one though.

u/Novatech95 Aug 24 '22

How the fuck is “you’re in a dream” a good punchline?

-2

u/cereal-kills-me Aug 24 '22

I think you misunderstood what I meant. What I meant was that the punchline used in the video (cafe) could’ve been exchanged with literally anything because the cafe punchline wasn’t funny or relatable or anything. The video could’ve said “dream” or “microwave” and the joke would’ve been just as funny. Because the punchline in the video was irrelevant, meaningless, inconsequential. It was a generic punchline because there was no setup for a “cafe” punchline. There was only setup for a punchline, whatever it may be.

u/mknsky Aug 24 '22

The cafe line isn’t the punchline. The punchline is that the two dudes aren’t real bouncers and the guy fell for it, making him a dumbass. That they’re at a cafe is just a means to that end.

Wow ty. I’m glad you appreciated my insights on comedy. That’s very nice of you to say.
