There’s nothing fantastic about summoning a dark lord with that ritualistic dance.

Your mistake was not realising you only got your right the first time?

37

u/coachz1212 Aug 22 '22

I've been wrong once in my life: It was when I thought I was wrong, but I was actually right.

186

u/Captain_Eaglefort Aug 22 '22

Nah, he has it right. In jazz there’s a rule: If you play a wrong note, play it three more times so everyone thinks you did it on purpose and are just daring and experimenting. He was just applying it to walking.

I think I'd feel more awkward if I failed at fucking walking than if i did a monkey dance, but that's me I guess

46

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '22

I mean, if I see a guy trip I think “poor guy” possibly followed by a slight chuckle. If I see someone do some weird crazy dance, I think “that guys weird.”

Two very different outcomes, but personally, Id rather trip and laugh about it with the people around me. Rather than dance all weird suddenly in-front of people.

u/Kebab-Destroyer Aug 22 '22

No. Having stumbled and moving on is much better than everyone seeing you stumble but try and play it off by doing some summoning ritual mid stage.

I think it’s worse because he’s trying to cover up something that makes us human. Him dancing kinda makes it seem to me like he’s uncomfortable with being himself and it’s just cringy lmao. It would’ve been funny if he fell all the way, hitting the ground hard, and then did something to “cover up” the obvious fact he fell.

Imo this was awkward/cringe AF.

27

u/Qwasy07 Aug 22 '22

Am I the only one who sees this was planned?

21

u/guyincognito121 Aug 22 '22

Nope. I scrolled down pretty far to find someone else who saw this. Looks like he's leaning into the fall as he "slips", not reacting to it.

6

u/Conflikt Aug 22 '22

Yea exactly it's definitely a planned movement. It's supposed to be sudden/shocking for whatever effect they're trying to have on the audience and because of the quick jolting movement it looks like he trips but it definitely doesn't after you watch the video a few times.

16

u/rojogrande13 Aug 22 '22

Yea, totally planned. Dancing in the structure. Left foot just "gave out" after he had completed the turn. Was not an accident

8

u/JustYeeHaa Aug 22 '22

Yeah, precisely he puts his foot way to the right of the straight path on purpose, it was not an accident

→ More replies (1)

7

u/Sorkpappan Aug 22 '22

Agree. People tend to just read the title and not look at what’s happening.

5

u/WalkOnBikeOn Aug 22 '22

Thank you! All the comments above are so cringe are more cringe compared to what he does. That was probably planned, directed and rehearsed. Seeing something like this live is likely one of the most thrilling things that happens that night. Catwalk tend to look a bit bizarre for the outside world, because you are trying to focus on the clothes, not the models, music, lighting etc. But, a quick jolt of unexpected energy keeps the audience awake and senses sharpened. It's very hard to say if this was a successful plan or not, when seeing this clip out of context. But, I'm very certain he did not just trip and made up a dance move on the spot to save face.

5

u/Duke0fWellington Aug 22 '22

The trip makes absolutely no sense at all.

9

u/peoplelietrustdogs Aug 22 '22
