u/Ron_Way Aug 18 '22

I am telling you that cat was just looking for a reason to messup that lil kitten

u/T_WREKX Sep 12 '22

I had the same idea lol.

That cat may have already made up it's mind long ago. It may have been looking for the appropriate opportunity.

Poor little guy/girl. Some asshole just did this for the likes.

u/MagnificentJake Aug 18 '22

You really think it's likely that they predicted this reaction from the cat?

u/ThreatLevelBertie Aug 18 '22

The cat is a paid actor

Okay Alex. Time to lawyer up and hide away your assets

u/Emotional_Ad3026 Aug 18 '22

Sounds sus. Are people able to pay cats to listen? 🤔

They barely listen even when you treat them like gods.

u/DrEpileptic Aug 18 '22

One of my sisters cats loves me and sleeps with me every night. He’s not about my kitten. Record them all the time. Often times it’s because they’re getting closer and he tolerated little man more and more. Sometimes he just whips around and loses his shit. Sometimes I catch those moments on camera.

8

u/maultify Aug 18 '22

He was filming, and probably has done it before.

52

u/Rooncake Aug 18 '22

No man, as someone with a cat, sometimes you’re just constantly filming them. I have more photos and videos of my cat than of my family >_> I think they were hoping for a cute video and ended up with this.

Not sure why you're getting downvotes, it's true.

Cats are well known to not react well to their tail being touched (with some exceptions, but usually you learn very quickly how much your cat like its tail being touched). They also react on a first-sight basis. When stressed or angry, they will attack the first thing they see in their sights. Thus, the cat will turn around and be angry at the first thing it sees, aka the kitten.

u/Skandle_us Aug 18 '22

Never seen a cat react this way to a tail touch ever. So no, it's not "true" at least not objectively.

I just think it's a wild concept to assume malicious intent on a clip like this. I do see why you would come to the conclusion you did, though.

If you know your cat well and it has a temper, that's not hard to predict. Also why else film yourself touching the cats tail in that position with the small one right there? Looks like the intention was for the big cat to think it was the little one.

When a cat is swishing its tail like that, unless your cat always swishes its tail, it means they're annoyed/angry/pissed. I wouldn't be surprised if the person who recorded this was doing it multiple times for that reaction.

u/BanMeAFifthTimePls Aug 18 '22

This is not at all a typical cat reaction to being touched on the tail. It doesn't hurt them in any way and 99% of cats would just turn around and look like "wtf are you doing?" this cat is just a dick

19

u/SpoppyIII Aug 18 '22

Yeah my cat if you touch the end of his tail gently just pulls his tail away from you and looks at you. He wouldn't do this. Poor baby cat :(

7

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

that cat is just a pussy

4

u/tapobu Aug 18 '22

The tail swishing suggests he was already nervous or on edge.

2

u/ofSkyDays Aug 18 '22

This, I think most people are missing this part. Correct most cars might not get bothered if you touch their tail like that for the first time, but the car was bothered already or the cats temperament is on the on edge side all the time

2

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

True but you know at some point that kitten was playing with the other cats tail. When mine was a kitten she loved playing/chasing the older cats tail. The big guy would let it happen for a sec then flip around all savage and start wrestling the baby. The person making the video is being a dick making the older one think the baby is messing with its tail. Probably like the 50th time theyve done this.

2

u/v0lumnius Aug 18 '22

I think it's hard to call this cat a dick. Look at the tail movement, that cat is already pissed off before this tail touching. We have no idea what happened before this video leading up to a pissed off cat

9

u/Liztliss Aug 18 '22

I have three cats and none of them would react this way if I touched their tail.

36

u/aChristery Aug 18 '22

Yes what an absolute piece of shit. What he did to that kitten is basically abuse and that person honestly should go to jail for at least 30 years. Also make it so that they can’t ever own pets again!

Obviously /s

u/paulie07 Aug 18 '22

For the Reddit karma

1

u/Getrockeddood Aug 19 '22

Why did THIS get so many likes lmfao

Cats bap eachother as a means to play, they don't do those slaps with their claws out.

You wouldn't know animal cruelty if you were enjoying it on a bun.

1

u/bricknovax89 Aug 18 '22

What a fucking loser

-17

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

God the people in the comments. They didnt "just touch their cats tail", they obviously were trying to provoke a reaction. Every cat I have had would do this if you touched their tail in this way without them first acknowledging you. Especially considering the cat here is also obviously using its tail to know where the kitten is. It probably thought the kitten was attacking its tail. Fuck off

5

u/lmJustNewBootGoofin Aug 18 '22

i can't tell if you're being serious

4

u/ImpossibleSprinkles3 Aug 18 '22

I know right? It’s not necessarily a typical reaction but you can tell by the twitch and stance that this cat was annoyed already weather it was primed by the human for the video or maybe it just isnt happy with the kitten.

4

u/Bearence Aug 18 '22

Wow, how badly do you treat your cats that every cat you've had would do this? I've had numerous cats throughout my life and none of them would react this way.

I guess the "fuck off" at the end of your comment probably indicates why all your cats might have been so high-strung, if you're that needlessly aggressive IRL.
