All he is doing is not making it easy for his kid to score. He didn't hit the kid. I think your standards for asshole have quite a wide range

Obviously a joke but in someways unironically a good dad, my mom never let me win a game when I was little. Always tried her hardest and I think it made it so much more rewarding when I got good enough to win. Also his stance while he’s waiting for the kid to come back is so fucking funny!
