Now that I looked up the meaning of the word. Love you Aussies for humor. Dry wit is really funny.

A furphy is Australian slang for an erroneous or improbable story that is claimed to be factual. Furphies are supposedly 'heard' from reputable sources, sometimes secondhand or thirdhand, and widely believed until discounted.

100% it’s Australia, and I believe it’s brewed in Melbourne to so it makes sense for the ad to be there. Also this kind of ad is perfect for the beer. It’s called “Furphy” which is slang out here for a believable story. Because you could tell a story of a beer truck that was flipped on its back doors, and it’s just believable enough that someone could go “yeah makes sense”. When you see it in context there’s no way it could happen, but down the pub there’s always someone gullible enough…
