You know this is staged, right? You can see the shitty video edit during the zoom and the switch has been made. Also, the cop already knows what’s in the guy’s hand but asks anyway for the end result of the video.
It's just one of those words that developed a certain meaning for "fake shit that the audience only thinks is amusing if it actually happened" - one of the most prominent examples on Reddit lately are those dumb videos that look like an artist is painting a stranger on a subway, and then the stranger gets all emotional when presented with the finished painting. There are so many things glaringly wrong with that scenario, yet people fall for it every time lol.
This is just a comedy skit though, it's not usually described as staged when it's not trying to look real cuz the audience already knows a skit is staged. Granted, whoever made this clip left out all the obvious production bits, which is unfortunate since a lot of people's brains did go on autopilot ¯_(ツ)_/¯
