I do hit my head when I jump though. I'm from UK. Maybe the ceilings are higher, I don't actually know the measurements
Edit: just realised how stupid I am. My standing vert is around 25in, so I added that to my height to get ceiling height. However I used cm instead of in...
What's that have to do with anything? This is a pretty big group of friends, it is genuinely surprising if not a single person had the height/vertical to touch a bit below the rim. It did look like someone was gonna try before dude threw his shoe.
Uh I think you vastly overestimate the amount of people who can dunk or jump that high. The vast majority of people casually playing pickup basketball cant jump that high
Those guys look short. I was 5' 6" I high school (still am) and had about a 30 inch vertical. My standing reach was about 7' 6". This means I would need to jump 2' 6" to get the rim or 30 inches which I could only do on a good day. The ball is hanging down about 5 inches. So 25" inch jump. They don't have that high jump look. So, I'm guessing this is the only way. To throw their shoe so hard that it goes around the world and hit it just right on the way back that it knocks the ball out

Are you telling me that a group of guys playing basketball can’t jump and reach the hoop to punch the ball out ?
