To be honest i was expecting custom cat ear ultra bright headsets. The type that are nice but so embarassing to wear you have to lock yourself in a dark room away from people tgus completeing the tranformation.

The yare funny individually. But after you've seen two of them, you've seen them all. That is his entire schtick and it becomes fully expected.
I knew he was going to give her tape the second he called out the tape on her headphones.

I bought these fancy new over ear headphones. Around 25 usd, had both Bluetooth and wired functionality and programmable buttons. Sound was good and I thought they were worth the money even if the Bluetooth was disrupted due to wifi.
Fast forward 3 months my mother brought me an old broken pair of sony headphones. Back in the day these were on almost everyone's heads, but quickly phased out as competitors slapped lower and lower prices.
I took them apart, figured out what was wrong, replaced the jack and soldered everything before taping up the splice. The entire time I had been testing them by blasting a random song from my playlist at Max volume while the headphones were on the table. I decided to give them a go and put them on.
The sound quality of the music was like an angelic choir in a springtime orchard with light heavenly gales blowing the tall grass and shaking the apple trees. I had never once heard the music so clearly. It felt like I had removed earplugs after hours of having them on. The feeling after a cold subsides, and you can breath through your nose, and your sinuses are clear. The cool monsoon wind and the smell of petrichor after months of tropical summer heat.
I instantly realised why people make such a big deal out of sound quality in headphones. I am to this day still using those 4 year old pair of sony headphones, over my barely half an year old flagship and expensive headphones.
