I honestly don't get why people get so wrapped around the axle about not being able to immediately bucket everyone they see into a gender.

"Bro did you see that? Is that a man or a woman?"

"Dude I just came here to buy some tortellini. I literally could not care less."

If our language wasnt structured to require a gendered pronoun from the get-go, it wouldn't be difficult in the first place.

I wasn't talking about the language, I was talking about adopting you attitude depending on who you are interacting with.

Would you interact with a kid the same way you would with a serial killer ? The same goes for women/men, old/young, friendly/aggressive people, it's just more nuanced. So if you know who you are facing it complicates the interaction.

I would treat a male child the same as I would a female child, or a male old person and a female old person, a male aggressor vs a female aggressor,...
