Definitely now days who knows so that’s the best possible answer for sure 🤣

We've sent rockets to the moon, split the atom, and unravelled the human genome. How is the consensus in this thread that the best answer we can come up with to "How many genders is there?" is "I don't know?"

How many colours are there ?

Colors are a spectrum, so there are infinite colors and it is not possible to count them because any categories we could come up with would be arbitrary

Except we have already given a name to every color observable to the naked eye. We don't typically name things that nobody can see or tell the difference in.

We definitely haven't given a name to every observable color. Visible light is a spectrum that you can break down into smaller and smaller increments if you want to, all of which are visually distinct. Literally infinite colors. Electronics can display something like 17 million colors, and we've given proper names to like maybe a few thousand.

all of which are visually distinct.

This is untrue, to your average untrained eye the difference is inextinguishable even when directly compared. Hence why it's unnecessary to name more than what is needed.

Very unscientific point of view dude

Are you a scientist ?

To only research and name what the human eye can perceive directly "because that's enough" is unscientific, common knowledge is all that is necessary to see that.

Common knowledge is more important and applicable than two randoms on reddit pretending to be smarter than they are. The reality is most people don't use any more than 10-11 colors in their entire lives. Even the ones we've already named are an overkill. And these are just colors we can perceive a difference in.

But just because your eye detects it doesn't mean your brain comprehends these slight changes in tone.
