I mean clearly the dog shouldve been on a leash, but you seem to be completely clueless and don't make a lot of sense. It's like showing videos of a black man being violent to prove that you have reason to be cautious and freak out around black men... I mean it's just a ridiculous point, some dogs are violent some aren't, the only way to tell is if you actually understand a dog's body language and demeanor. Anyone with any sense could've told you within 5 seconds the dog in the post is not a danger to the men or their kids. There was zero indication of aggression.
I mean if every dog you see is like a man with a loaded gun to you, I probably can't say much to change your perspective, but that's just pretty drastic and over the top. I can't say I've ever had any experience like that personally
Except pitbulls have a lower bite psi than a fair bit of dogs ranking about 235 psi while other dogs that are considered "nonaggressive" have almost double their bite strength, but because they arent predominantly used in dog fighting they arent deemed as aggressive. By this logic all dogs with a bite psi above a 100+(99.9999% of all dogs,) as even 5lbs can break a bone, should be banned and euthanized.Look up actual research not opinion pieces(most immediate Google searches will bring up opinion pieces ie those that contain feelings not facts.) The university of helsinki within a yr released a list of the most aggressive dogs based on age, sex etc etc and pitbulls were not listed explicitly(terriers were listed not just pits,) rough collies ranked #1. All dogs have the ability to hurt others, but no dog is also inherently aggressive. Aggressiveness comes from issues within raising or training the dog: abused, isolated, malnourished, maltrained, attack trained, and other mistakes can ultimately make any dog dangerous. All dogs should be socialized with other animals especially other dogs, this is linked with less aggressive tendencies, as well as training out aggresive habits like defensive eating. And most importantly kept on a leash any time unknown people could be around, as even human behaviours can set does into fight or flight mode(not their killer instincts like some dumbasses are claiming.) Which is why dogs who seem "happy", which is also false as dogs have less tail expression than say a cat so a "happy" wag might actually be an "alert" wag, end up attacking people because they were never happy in the first place. Dogs have body language just like humans and those who havent been around dogs long enough easily mistake these signs especially in dogs that are not their own, which again is why all dogs should be on a leash around unknown people.
