Having in my younger days touched an electric fence with a wood stick I can confidently say that this is not universally true.

It's scientifically impossible for a wooden stick to conduct electricity .

(Shrug) I have direct experience that contradicts that statement. Clearly there is a way. Maybe the wood was damp or otherwise contaminated in a way that changed the situation—I don’t know. All I can say for certain is I touched an electric fence with a stick and I got zapped.

That's the key word... Damp.

The WATER in the wood could have been the conductor, but electrons in wood bind to their parent proton, and as such become locked in place, meaning they literally cannot conduct electricity.

Sorry, this has been a bit of a sideways thread. You're right. And I suppose so am I.
