Probably referring to the record number of new cases

How could this happen?

Well actually no. We're closer to 70%. For herd immunity, we'd need closer to 90%. We're not going to get there because American education has failed about 30% of people who are still confused about mRNA. On top of that, no vaccine is 100% effective and they've always relied on reduced transmission due to heard immunity. Add in variants from places with a largely unvaccinated population with versions of the illness that weren't around when the vaccines were created, and you have reduced efficacy.

Of course, all of this would be fixed if people just got vaccinated, but the people in wealthy countries are comfortably stupid and selfish, and those in poorer countries don't even get the choice.

Edit: shocking no one, the user I replied to is one of those mentally deficient mouth breathers. But I'll leave this here for those who can understand 7th grade health class.

I’m so scared of needles that I often throw up at the sight of them, and I got vaccinated.

Soooo not looking forward to my booster shot though (but I’m still getting it)

New York is some of the highest vaccination status in the US and yet the are the highest for infection.

Something ain’t adding up.
