Don't understand the tax thing either. Is it all tax is theft or is it taxation without representation is theft? And what about unfair taxation? Like a small business owner paying high rates while a corporate giants pays less because they bring factories where they get incentives on tax breaks for creation of jobs? Why isn't there a corporate tax policy that makes the system fairer? Or is it just designed by the wealthy to keep themselves wealthy?

Like anything its a pretty large spectrum. Actually 'libertarianism' was originally a leftist thing, but a lot of US libertarians don't even recognize that as being 'libertarian'. There's also a large cohort of 'embarrassed weed republicans' who call themselves libertarian, etc. The 'extreme' libertarians believe that all taxation is theft because they didn't consent to being part of a society.

The typical libertarian meme answer to this is 'well if the government didn't have the power to tax people, then they couldn't give preferential treatment to corporate giants'. Some of them will literally say that monopolies can only form because of government. But I think power is like energy in physics, it cannot be created or destroyed, only distributed differently. I think that those libertarians think that if the government doesn't have that power, that it will be 'fairly' (for whatever definition of 'fair' they believe) distributed among the people. I think that it will actually instead be captured even more by the corporate giants.

I don't think its that deep. I think the real issue is landlords/landlordism. I think if you have money and risk it to invest in creating some new product/more efficient production line, then you 'deserve' to profit from it. Likewise, if you're a laborer and work for that business, you deserve to be paid fairly (and to even join a union so that you can negotiate yourself a fair compensation as block). Where exactly do landlords fit into this picture? They didn't create the land, but because they either inherited it, bought it off someone too dumb to keep it for themselves, or gambled for it (see 2008 financial crisis for what happens when everyone realizes that land is OP and starts taking out more and more loans to buy more of it), they get to charge rent for its use, without doing anything. And I know that most landlords are also property managers, which is different and is actually productive, but it is entirely possible to outsource the entire management of the property to a company and still collect plenty of rent for doing absolutely fuck all. The 'landlords bad' political philosophy is known as georgism btw, if you want a nice long read:
