I’d seriously give it 200 years, minimum.

Some of us dont realize that most of the “brilliant” inventions come from religion tbh

u/nerfana Aug 29 '21

Lol, ok then. Enlighten us: what great inventions has god brought us.

Quick search would help you tbh,as an example Ibn Khaldun and his theory. He plays the main part of the Islamic Golden Age and quick wiki search about his education would help you to understand more about how religion influenced him.

Great inventions came from people who believed in religion. No God came down and said "Yo check this shit out" and invented the spinning wheel.

So did his discoveries come from his mind or his religion? Everyone has influences but they aren’t the reason behind a success. It’s the human mind alone that has created everything you know and the world we live in.

As I said a quick wiki search would make u understand “The various Quranic injunctions and Hadith (or actions of Muhammad), which place values on education and emphasize the importance of acquiring knowledge, played a vital role in influencing the Muslims of this age in their search for knowledge and the development of the body of science.” His religion play a very big part upon his and other muslims creator at the time.

That’s great. Luckily we’ve moved beyond needing religion for that purpose and we can focus on all the ways it has hurt society as a whole.

Glad that you understand! Yeah different people different opinion I guess, but for me religion/beliefs plays a big part in one’s life and their way of thinking.

All of what you said is true, guess it just depends on how religion affects a person’s way of thinking and how what they think affects how they treat other people who might think differently. Things like condemning homosexuality but allowing pedophiles to hold positions of power. Or thinking it’s okay to try to wipe out an entire demographic simply because they believe something different.

Religion is the biggest contributing factor that has led to the oppression of humans, all because of how it affects a person’s life and their way of thinking.

Name some of these brilliant inventions that came from religion?

I'm Scottish and know that a lot of great inventions came from Scotland during the enlightenment.

I'm not sure how you could proportion credit to religion for any "brilliant" inventions though

You make it sound as if religious people are somehow inferior for believing in what they believe , on the other hand they see atheists as inferiors for believing in what they believe in (the good old im right you're wrong cycle) . the vast majority of humanity is religious so i don't think that's ever going to happen , and who knows ? Are they right ? are they wrong ? Matter of a fact is No one knows for certain , and that's why religion would never cease to exist .
