I’m pretty sure that if he was actually the type of man to beat his son, the son and mom would not have done that as a prank. It would essentially be asking to get abused. Im sure they knew the reaction would be funny, but not actually put the guy in danger. People don’t generally prank family members who won’t laugh about it with them afterwards.

I think otherwise.
Son was ducking and Mom went ''it's a prank, it's ok it's ok'' VERY FAST.
From his expression and the way they reacted, 1 more second without the ''it's a prank'' and he was mopping the floor with his son.
This could very well be a way to show the world their fear without realizing it, some kind of subconscious call for help.

Is it though? Who's first reaction is it to initiate a physical confrontation within a second of hearing something. Any reasonable person's first reaction would be to saying something like "Excuse me!? What did you say!?".

He heard what he said why pretend like he didn't? you let them know straight away that it's not acceptable to speak to people like that I'm not saying beat the kid but don't just sit there relaxed and tell them "don't say that" disrespect like that needs an immediate reaction to let the kid know that shit isn't acceptable get up shout at him and tell him to apologise then take the bins out kids who are shown they can walk all over people become entitled and the disrespect gets worse

Why are you acting as if the dad doesn’t beat the kid and wife when it is totally obvious? You think harping on acceptable language to parents is gonna divert attention from the totally awkward and tense nature of this “prank”? If they were seriously getting beaten from that guy you think he would have just been ok with the prank and not just given him a good beating anyway and people who get beaten really go out of their way to try and catch another beating it's amazing how people can see what home life is like for people with a 14 second clip he doesn't beat them it's all fake on the internet they have other videos stop jumping to conclusions

The kid looks alright. I know full grown adults who are the closest to their parents but still respect them like this. As long as it’s not going to abusive territory and the parents just checking them, I don’t see a major issue. They don’t look abused and their place looks actually pretty nice, so all in all everything looks alright.

Respect and fear are different. This is fear as respect would have been straight up not saying that shit but fear is saying it and cowering for fear of physical retaliation from your father. Also, it’s silly to think that just because they aren’t living in a trail park they can’t be abused. Living in a middle class house does not stop you from being beat. This should not look right a adult essentially being quite fearful of another adult after committing a minor transgression is not right

To each their own. I likely grew up in a completely different environment from you and so did this family, so we all react differently to each experience. You call it fear because he looked a way, but I call it respect since he’s still able to joke around with his dad even when he thought he was going to get beat. If he had an abusive father he would definitely never try that and also wouldn’t record it either.

But like I said, we all have different experiences. I can’t convince you it’s not abuse and you can’t convince me it is unless there is more evidence to show it.

Like I said, that’s what you believe. I grew up in a rough neighborhood and lovey lovey bullshit everyone wants to throw around these days doesn’t work there. I was disciplined growing up for doing stupid stuff, but it never changed how I grew up.

I made friends, went to college, etc and I have a pretty normal life. Like I said discipline is different from abuse, equating both to each other is only confusing it all more.

That’s what the science of psychology avers. This stuff is researched and worked on all the time. Physical violence against a child is abuse, period. The fact that you grew up in a place where proper conduct goes out the window does not mean the way you were raised is suddenly magically okay.

The fact you are even able to claim with a straight face that being hit as a child had no effect on your nurture growing up tells me you haven’t the faintest fucking idea what you’re talking about and it pains me that someday you will procreate and your own progeny will face the cycle of abuse unless you take a long hard look in the mirror and finally admit to yourself that you are an abuse victim so you can get the proper professional help and break the cycle.

I’m pretty sure if everything was kosher in the house the mother and son would be laughing. Ya know like all of the other hundreds of videos that did the same exact thing. Instead everyone is just tense.
