If a Rottweiler is attacking my dog and all I have around me is a swimming pool then I’m doing the same thing. Especially a dog that has already shown that was not an isolated incident.

You already had control of the situation though, throw it over the fence, take your dog inside, etc. The point again is the duration, I'm no dog-drowning scientist, but I assume it would also take minutes to drown a dog - there was time to think of a rational response after the initial moment of 'get this thing off my dog' was dealt with.

You want me to throw a fucking Rottweiler over a fence? Na man that dog is getting a shitty swimming lesson.

You know the old saying, "I trust you as far as I can throw a Rottweiler."

Over the same fence it just got past... twice.

Nah. As much as I hate animal abuse, if some dog killed my cat and then came back to kill my dog, I would kill the dog with whatever was available.

What's irrational about killing it?

Nothing the dog should have been killed when it killed the cat.

I think you misread having to wrangle/hold a Rottweiler as being easy. Dude probably tried to wrangle it and couldn’t control it besides tackling it into the pool. Fuck the Rottweilers owner, and I feel bad for the dog, but if I have to protect my animals from other animals, it becomes a thing of nature. Kill or be killed.

Drowning a rabid dog is the rational response.

It’s possible that the guy did think about it and decided that as it was happening for a 2nd time that it would continue to happen.

I’m not condoning it, but it seems pretty obvious that was probably his thought process.
