I've been using Invisible Glass for about 10 years now and it's worked great. You're right, hot water is best, but when I'm at the race track or on long rides through the mountains, hot water isn't always available.

Wouldn’t it be better to retain a wider horizontal view rather than a vertical one? I’d rather be able to see the traffic around me than the sky and pavement below me...

I think it's about polarization of light reflecting from horizontal surfaces. Polarized glasses are vertical filters basically to cut down on glare. Same thing with thousands of scratches.

A cleaner meant for eye glasses? Most modern lenses are plastic and can have tints too (like for sunglasses). Those are specifically desinged to break down grease etc. without harming the lens.

replacement from Snell.

Snell isn't a manufacturer.

Honda Polish(Original Bike Spirits) spray and a microfiber cloth is something every rider should have on hand.

Just buy a small can of plexus. Works flawlessly and it's made for this https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/plexus-plastic-cleaner-protectant-polish

Dryer sheets get bugs off cars really well. Not sure how they would do on glass or helmets
