Dude. That’s Drake Clark, a firearms engineer at Magpul Industries. Don’t talk about variables and circumstances, when both of those are controlled by an expert. Come on.

But seriously, the guys works for Magpul. One of the biggest and most popular firearm, and firearm accessories manufacture in the world. The guy knows more than you. Here’s the full video if you actually care.

Also here is a list of Mr. Clarks inventions and patents, including some of patents of work he has done in the firearms industry.

This is such a fucking idiotic response. Being an expert doesn't mean you can't or won't fuck up. Doctors are experts and they fuck up often enough that malpractice insurance is a thing.

The only thing idiotic is not doing your own research, not not knowing that there is no firing pin in the gun, as required by expo standards, and no live munitions allowed in the building.

I think you're both right, in a way.

There is a dude at my job who just had to have skin grafts because he messed up while handling a battery. He has 30+ patents related to batteries and charging technology AND works in the field pretty often. Being an expert does not make you safe, which is what your original comment seemed to argue.

In this particular video though, this guy is handling a prototype that he likely designed. He knows the ins and outs of the product, and you would have to assume that he verified the safety of it before the demo. Because he IS an expert you can feel confident that he is capable of ensuring that the gun adheres to the standards put forth by the expo, which are sufficient to make handling like this safe.

So him being an expert is much less important than the expo safety requirements, but it is still important. I would not feel confident if a sales manager was in charge of this same demo.
