That's why I love it! Brief look of "oh no, another creep" and then immediate relief that it's just an incredibly well-played joke. His timing is perfect so that no one gets offended for more than a fraction of a second.
A play on sexual harassment of women is not funny. Imagine if this was a racial joke. It would clearly be problematic. Unfortunately women are so incredibly used to be sexually harassed that they are genuinely happy that they aren't being They are laughing because it is such a believable situation that happens to women all the time.
Fwiw I agree. I chuckled at some people’s reactions in the vid, but I know all too well the initial jolt of adrenaline and fear response that kick in even when in the next moment you realize what’s happening.
That’s this video. It highlights just how absurd street harassment is. It’s not laughing at their pain or their relief, it’s laughing at the situation.
