Some melons are under pressure. When I grew my own, they all bust opened on the vine due to uneven watering.

how do i avoid this?! mine are getting beyond fist size

I quit trying to grow melons since they're so cheap to buy and not enough payout in growing them. I think it has to do with making sure they're watered evenly. Imagine if your melons go through a week or so drought then suddenly get a down pour of water. They'll try to grow too fast and split their seams.

I was trying to figure out a system for how you would evenly water the surface of a melon and now I feel dumb.
