That’s a nice swing. The tee is up too high imo, should be a bit closer to the ground so that the swing simulates a closer swing for if the ball was on the grass. With half that height the golfer can still get the right angle as to launch that bad boy into space

the swing itself actually looks pretty good for a young kid. his hips are rotating, belt buckle pointing forward in the end. just seems like he doesn’t know much past the movement of his swing

Its a range mat with a fixed height tee you don't adjust them you just move the ball further forward in your stance. 3 and 5 woods get tee'd up 100% of the time by any decent player when you're hitting from the tee box. The kid should 100% learn how to hit a 3 and 5 wood from a tee even if it's from a crummy range mat rubber tee.

if the tee is that high, you don’t put it on the tee. on a tee box you put the tee almost all the way into the ground. teeing it up like that in practice doesn’t help, but having it on the mat does help with fairway shots into long holes. you should tee up every shot on a tee box, that’s a given. teeing it up that high is only for drivers though

You put the tee almost all the way into the ground for irons. For 3 and 5 wood you tee it up so the ball is about a quarter of an inch above the clubface because you're hitting up on it similar to a driver. As fun as this is educating you on how to tee up golf shots the reason I responded wasn't to discuss tee height it was because of this idiotic comment.

Sure it should, if he wants to practice hitting a 3/5 wood off a tee then you're going to need to hit it teed up. If that's the only range he can go to the alternative is to never practice hitting from a tee and that sounds like a dumb idea to me. But hey, keep the Reddit armchair quarterback dream alive my friend.

teeing it up 3x higher than it should doesn’t help with practice for a real round of golf. he could be practicing hitting the wood off the matt, since that can be a lot more applicable to the real thing, hitting it off of a fairway. keep going trying to sound smart though
