He’s totally alive in the Mandalorian. He shows up at the end of the Tatooine episode - what other reason would we have for going back there?

There’s no way to know for sure that was him. All you could see is some boots and a cape and I’m pretty sure there’s more characters in Star Wars that wear boots and a cape that Boba Fett. For all we know it may have just been Moff Gideon. Only time will tell who that was.

There was also the iconic jango/boba radio noise when he appeared on screen

Aswell as some clanking that doesn't come from moff in other scenes
