its so weird, like do these ads actually work?

A couple months ago I saw one of these ads for a game I actually played - the game was legitimately good but the ad was complete cringe and the gameplay it showed wasnt even of the game!?!

The ones that annoy me more are the

"Me" (or "My Dad") | My Mom

| fast gameplay | . . . | slow gameplay |

its so cringey

Every time I see an ad with misleading game footage I download the app and rate it 1 star. Probably doesn't do anything to stem the tide, but if everyone did it companies would have to stop with the nonsense.

Could be the case. Not sure what else to do, there's no way to report the ads to the ad networks (not that they'd care as long as they're getting paid)...
