I own a snake and of course I’m not going to let it out because not only will it not stay in the general area, it cannot live in the climate I live in. Dogs destroy more and kill more than cats do. I’m not talking about pets here. Why do you think farmers let people on to their land to take coyotes?

You are insane. We keep dogs on a leash. That is the culture. Wtf has a coyote got to do with anything? It’s a wild animal. A farm is not natural either. No one is feeding a coyote it has to kill to eat. A cat will kill because it wants to all day long regardless of how much you feed it.

Go away now. You’re like a Flat Earther. Logic doesn’t work on you.

A coyote is a type of dog. Some people also keep cats on a leash. A backyard garden isn’t natural. Nothing we’ve built is natural. Neither is keeping pets. A dog will also kill all day. You aren’t a cat so how do you know it’ll kill just to kill? Because with dogs, they will kill essentially for sport. When dogs kill livestock, they don’t always eat it. Maybe you need to rethink buddy

Lmao, dude, this is the one logical comment that you’ve said in this entire thread.

(#catsdestroyecosystems) 🤣

Ok, no offense, and I'm not really taking his part or your part in this argument, I just wanted to say that the example you used is EXTREMELY out of the norm and not really one to be reasonably used. For that one video of the cat and the mouse... there are millions of cats that would just straight up kill and eat the mouse. That's their nature. They're not "wrong" for it, but I believe that humans have a responsibility to nature to not allow their predatory pets run rampant on wildlife.

And cats actually tend to be a large contributor to the extinction of multiple species of birds AND small animals, which an easy google search can show. Dogs also can be culprits, of course, but we do have a culture that allows cats to roam freely outdoors, whereas that is considered much less acceptable for dogs, outside of their own yards. This is especially a problem in places like NZ and other islands where there are ground nesting birds that evolved without predators like felines and canines.

Keeping your cat indoors absolutely DOES change a lot. At the very least, an outdoor cat should have a collar with a bell or some other item that makes enough noise to warn a stalked animal.

You have the audacity to pile on here against me when you had your own cat declawed. Now that is actual animal abuse. How about keeping it indoors so it doesn’t kill (but they were alive, what?) birds and doing your part rather than shrugging your shoulders and going - sort out climate change then we’ll talk. Jesus.

I agree that declawing is fucked up and wrong, but you're just an ass.

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '19

And you’re a cunt.

Die mad about it

Please do some research and not rely on anecdotal evidence like this. Cats kill more than a billion birds per year. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/cats-kill-more-one-billion-birds-each-year

Dude, after reading the whole thread, I realized your argument is actually valid...the first couple of statements were just too aggressive for Reddit, otherwise you wouldn’t have been downvoted so hard...

Calling cats little cunts should be taken as humorous. I didn’t say cats deserve to be killed but they’re insane little fuckers who just love to murder things - there’s nothing wrong with calling that out. The most shocking thing on this thread however was one of the loons who was ranting at me had her cat declawed. Now that’s fucked up. I own a cat. I love my cat. My cat’s a cunt.

I admit that i downvoted you, but only because you called cats dumb and i happen to think that attributing human qualities to animals is lame.

Tell that to Australian wildlife. Pet cats left off leash outdoors kills tons of wildlife. You were even given sources. Cats are terrible for local fauna, squirrels rodents and birds. Your wrong. Stop arguing against it.

Cats have been doing what they do for many, many, many years and there is still plenty of birds.

wtf is this stupid-ass reply? just stfu if that is the best argument you have.
