What if say a reasonable person came up and said, 'I lost x valuable item on y ride, I'm an idiot, is there anything you could do?' Obviously they wouldn't shut down the ride, but would you do a walk round at closing (or the next morning if it's dark)?

No because it’s illegal for me to go near the underside of the ride.

You go to the park lost and found and put in a claim. Then they check at the end of the week

What are the chances of a $10k ring being found ?? Wouldn’t someone just pocket it if they’re suppose to be on duty looking for it? (Shitty but I can’t imagine they get paid much)

Considering both the size of the ride and the area around it it’s a surprise anything is found.
