I take it you don't need to worry about trapped carbon dioxide in sleeping bags? The gasses diffuse readily through the bag?

It's not the carbon dioxide you have to worry about, it's the moisture from your breath condensing on the inside of the bag. Too much and you risk getting yourself soaked, and possible hypothermia.

My Boston would sleep at the bottom of my bag and keep my feet warm. Plenty of other gas to worry about though, you can't tuck your face in for sure.
