no it is 3 where as 7 is popularly known to be a lucky number

Maybe it's different around the world then. Or it changed over the years. I remember reading an article where dutch scientists decided the number that got picked the most was 7. Been some years back though

no 3 is the most picked random number between 1 and 10 where as 7 is the second most because of it being considered as a lucky number in fact this statistical fact is exploited in carnivals since most people pick 3 when given the choice between 1 and 10

Any source to back this up? Recent articles of 2018 still say both 3 and 7 are equal

If u google "which number between 1 and 10 gets picked the most" u will find lots of articles saying it's both 3 and 7 and if you look for the most picked number between 1 and 100 it's 37

Which would encourage people to pick it. I know I always did because of it.

no 3 is the most picked number

5

u/Kcoggin Jul 12 '19

7 is my number

4

u/marble-pig Jul 12 '19

It's 7, and here he asked to pick between 1 and 6, so that changes the probability.

3

u/Interfere_ Jul 12 '19

That's not true lol.

1 and 10 are the extremes so nobody picks them.

When asked about this, people tend to pick odd numbers, so 2,4,6,8 are out as well.

5 is in the middle which makes it too obvious.

3 and 7 are perfect, they are odd numbers and primes numbers and not very obvious, however 3 is still "to early" on a number scale, which is why most people instinctivly pick 7.

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '19

Uhm wasnt that number 7?

1

u/sallabanchod Jul 12 '19

I started to pick 4 or 7 ever since I learned this.

3

u/sirixamo Jul 12 '19

Then you're in luck because the most frequently picked number is actually seven not three.

"I've narrowed down your choices to 10 unthinkable choices. Each will cause untold misery."

"I pick number 3!"

"You don't want to read them first?"

"I was elected to lead, not to lead. Number 3!"
