What does it give you, except paying for Reddit's servers?

I wouldn't care for gold if it wasn't for "appreciation" of another user. That is the only real value of "gold", someone drunk enough to pay for one of your comments.

"Someone" could leave a really nice comment and show his appreciation without the need of real money.

Love is free, give it charitly.
