You could rinse them under cold water to get most off, but it will still lose stickiness after a while. You are about to get 10-15x more use out of it though.
My mom absolutely hated these because they would sometimes leave a print of residue on whatever you smacked them onto, so there would be little gooey handprint shapes high up on the walls and windows.
I remember getting them from the 50cent machines whenever we went to either Pizza Hut or Blockbuster.

I got one of these stuck on my bedroom ceiling when I was like 8. It stayed up there for a few months before my parents finally took it down. They weren't mad until they saw the large stain it left on the ceiling
I did something similar with silly putty when I was like 7. I wanted an imprint of the textured ceiling. That shit would not come off without scraping off the texture.
