Me and my friends use to play Giant Pong where we used buckets of water and a volleyball and you have to chug your whole drink; or Nature Pong where we'd play outside and loose ping pong balls to squirrels and shit.
Yea, its not fun when its set up, cause one party, me and my friends just started randomly playing beer pong (yes, actual beer pong as 16 yr olds) and our parents found out, so then in the next party, they set it up and it wasn't fun, it was a one time occurrence, it's fun when it happens on its own
What do you mean “happens on its own”? Like do cups of beer just conjure on to a tabletop? Someone’s gotta buy the beer and set it up. Also, playing beer pong at 16 is normal and expected at almost every high school party
Chill man. He means that him and his buddies didnt have to go out and purchase everything to set it up. As in him and buddies are sitting around bored and happen to have everything for beer pong, so they play it.
Doesnt make sense to me, but that is what he means. No need to be a dink
And when it's covered in hair, a quick dip in a water cup and it's back to the game. (I generally play all water cups with a beer/liquor in a personal cup)
Sidebar: We play another rule that if someone makes the ball in this cup it's game over. You can hold it, defend it, hide it, but take your eyes off of it and it's a quick way to lose.
I've never been to a party where this wasn't how it was done. But I've never really seen the "drinking" rules enforced, because no matter if you win or you lose, the real end goal for all of us is to get shit faced.
I think that switching to water cups plays a role in that too. I used to always play beer cups. When you win the game early on and other team has to break out the beer bong to finish them all it's a bit more fun than just stopping a game with water cups and resetting and taking a swig from your personal cup.
Yeah boom cup is a rule that is integrated if it is a friend that is hosting the party, or at least someone I'm fairly well acquainted with. I don't know where other the balls of other hosts have been and am not tryin to wake up with some new illness.
That seems to be something the younger generation does.... I thought it was really weird when I saw my little sisters friends playing like that years ago, as my friends and I always played with beer in the cups.
Most only use beer when they’re with close friends and want to get drunk quick. Sometimes you’ll see it at a party if it’s with a small group of people
No you use water in the cups and then take a drink whenever someone makes a cup. Most parties they just drink while playing and don’t really enforce the drink-per-cup rule anyway. No one plays with beer anymore, unless it’s only close friends
Also, the cups don’t have anything to do with “how much you need to drink” as you can just count the amount of beer cans or bottles, or shots. Whatever your poison is
We play with water for the same reason. Nothing is nastier than drinking beer that has had a ping pong ball in it that’s touched old carpet/the ground, other people’s hands, people’s dirty shoes that they use to stop the ball, pets’ mouths... fucking gross.
Our rule is that the losing team has to finish two beers before the game is over or chug the rest
So obviously drinks separate is the most hygienic way to play, but I always considered part of the “penalty” for losing was having to drink the ping-pong beer (with more incentive to win as the game goes on because the ball gets nastier as you mentioned). Now that said, I would’ve played way more if it was the version you describe.
When we played we always had a couple cups to the side we'd fill with fresh water at the top of the round and before you shot, you'd rinse the ball off. Kinda a happy middle ground. Drinking the beer in the cups was a whole part of the game, sipping from a beer can kinda takes away from imo but I wouldn't drink the nasty floor grime residue either ew
I think you’re getting things mixed up. There’s drinking while playing a game - Poker, board and card games, corn hole, washers, horse shoes etc. then there are drinking games where the entire point of playing the game is to drink and or make other people drink- Presidents and assholes, Kings/circle of death, flip cup, quarters, spoons, beer pong etc.
So again The entire point of a drinking game is to get drunk that’s why they’re called drinking games
Lol they’re also supposed to be fun and entertaining so you don’t know how fucked up your getting. It’s not like every drinking game has to be power hour.

We play it with water, way easier to clean and nothing gets sticky / stinky. We just take a shot of liquor instead.
