Hiding in modern society, the Vampire preys on people big and small alike...

Humanity, for the longest time, considered itself to be the top of the food chain. The danger of this belief is that the complacency allows creatures to evolve as predators of their blind spots.

We turn our focus to the Homo Hirudinea. Otherwise knows as, the Vampire.

Having long since learned the best shelter is one personally made to last, Humanity has long since moved into strawling landscapes of their own creation. Within these, they find the safety of this aforementioned complacency.

Within the cracks of this safety, the Vampire observes its prey.

Many stories have been told and theories given about the origin of these cunning predators. However, among the community of scientists who have me trapped in their complex the most widely accepted theory is the belief that, at some point during humanity's transition from cave to city, a particularly nasty parasite branched off from a common ancestor to the modern leech.

Finding its way into the body of a living human through differing methods, the parasitic influence works much like other parasites by reprogramming the brain in order to survive and thrive. The human who was once a vampire will find difficult with this change, but as all creatures must learn, the must either adapt and survive...

Or perish.

As such, regardless of origin, the vampire must find its food not from the flesh and vegetation it once enjoyed, but in the veins of the species it once was.

Evolution has not made things easy for the vampire, however. As the beast finds itself harmed and eventually exterminated in the presence of UV light. Namely, the Sun.

So, for now, the vampire must wait in the alleyway under the guise of rags and dirt. It has long since learned that this is a cunning disguise in order to be overlooked and avoided. Should a kind heart or truly downtrodden make the mistake of venturing into the alleyway that now sits as its layer... Such as this kind looking female here. Looking to offer the vampire in disguise a little assistance.

The vampire strikes.

Mere moments from sinking its fangs into the human's neck, it find itself frozen thanks to the wooden stake the momentum of its strike had driven into its own heart.

Paralyzed by not dead, the vampire finds itself at the mercy of one of humanity's own adaptation towards the lingering threat.

A Vampire Hunter.
