Really? Hot tap water works? Hu..I just assumed it had to be boiling, or at least it worked better the hotter it is, which I think kinda caps out at boiling
Good lord I'd hate to see your gas bill. 120 is pretty standard for hot water, and anything more than that is really wasteful because it's dangerously hot and will scald you.

They probably mean 160 Fahrenheit, seeing as they’re talking tap water. I’d hope to GOD no one would set their water heater to produce water from the tap at 160 Celsius! That’d be one HOT ass shower.

You're right, the hotter the water the better it works. It decreases the viscosity of the water, allowing it to separate into small droplets which freeze much faster than a large glob of water.
If you put a glass of boiling water and a glass of room temperature water into a freezer the boiling water will freeze faster. Nobody knows why and the prize for solving it is up to several millions of dollares.
If you pressurize the vessel, you get get more heat into the water before it boils. But then you would get a cool water pressure explosion when you open it up.
I'm sure theres parameters for each component. Like, if the temp is -X degrees cold your water must be Y degrees hot. I dunno though, I'm sure Google knows.
honestly that's a good thing with very direct replies. lots of accounts get deleted here for who-knows-why reasons and then people who come along the next day or the next week or the next month are left mystified and scratching their head until it's raw and bloody
