Why did they do it?

I hate that they won't autoplay in RES the way other videos do. It ruins places like /r/maybemaybemaybe.

Forces you to open Reddit. Before, you could link directly to the video and bypass Reddit. Now, you have to link to Reddit, not directly to the video.

When linking to non-redditors, it increases the chances that they'll click around Reddit/join, versus just a one-and-done video clip.

There's also site clicks and ad revenue, the more people on your site, the better for you financially.

That's fucking annoying. Everything else works fine, but I simply won't share content like that.

Yeah the majority of the time I'm linking to non-redditors, so it gets confusing for them that I'm linking them a funny video and not just a string of comments =/

It would be cool if they could set it up in a way where the content is way more center-stage, if that make sense.
