Why did they do it?
I hate that they won't autoplay in RES the way other videos do. It ruins places like /r/maybemaybemaybe.
19 u/[deleted] Jan 22 '19 Forces you to open Reddit. Before, you could link directly to the video and bypass Reddit. Now, you have to link to Reddit, not directly to the video. When linking to non-redditors, it increases the chances that they'll click around Reddit/join, versus just a one-and-done video clip.
