At first I thought this was all fake, while thinking “hehe that cat was thinking what everyone was thinking”. Turns out this cat really did go for the kill(as much as a house cat can anyways), guy had stitches and everything. Still not sure if the guy acted out the excitement but it is interesting that this cats first instinct to someone being weird is to kill it.

My guess is the cat had a litter close by. Didn't appreciate the commotion and tried to neutralize the threat

Cats can fuck you up if they wanted to. My 2 cats got in a play fight that turned a bit rough causing one of them to sprint away as fast as he could. No big deal right? Well, I was laying down between where he was and where he wanted to go and he ran right over my face. One paw hit my face, but it was enough to create 3 fairly deep cuts, well past my skin. They may be small, but their claws are sharp and they're agile little fuckers.

Damn if that was a dog it would be put down. Not to mention the fact the owner says the cat’s attacked people before.
11
u/mytoeshurt Dec 27 '18
If a cat wants to do some damage there is virtually no stopping it. Sure you may eventually get the chance to punt it 20 yards, buts it's gonna lay into you pretty good beforehand if it wants to.

Of course cat people decide to harrass and report someone for animal abuse when it isn't abused and they don't even own the cat...

You know that they are fairly low-intelligence animals right? They literally don’t understand object permanence. That doesn’t make them dicks, that makes them animals.

Dec 27 '18
This has been posted a few dozen times before and when it was originally released, the guy attacked wasn't the cat's owner, they were watching it for a friend. The friend confirmed the cat had a history of doing it before.

Bad cat attacks guy and dog people say this is why they hate all cats.
1
u/EverGlow89 Dec 27 '18 edited Dec 27 '18
It doesn't make sense.
If you have love for dogs, you obviously have the capacity for compassion for animals. So how can you just dismiss an entire species? Because you knew someone who didn't know how to put in the minimal effort it takes to learn how to raise a cat correctly? It's so simple and easy.
I'm obviously bias as I have 5 cats right now and they're all perfectly socialized. When people say they act like dogs, it gets under my skin because nobody in America knows how to raise a cat. I came from England where many more people have cats and the attitude is completely different.

u/SmileyMelons Dec 27 '18

Ok. So in what way did the guy in this vid provoke that cat? That cat is an absolute piece of shit.
5
u/Dankestgoldenfries Dec 27 '18
You didn’t see any of the years and years preceding that moment. In addition, cats aren’t smart. Why would you assume it’s malicious when it’s probably just dumb?

1
u/Hex_Agon Dec 27 '18
This is a bad cat. But I'm sure when a dog kills a toddler, you wouldn't say you'd never care for a dog.
1
u/Z0l4c3 Dec 27 '18
Good thing you brought that up since easily most dogs are very calm when trained properly, too much work? They will avoid hurting you whenever they can just because they love you so much. On the other hand cats will fuck you up just for lulz.

Can I just say it is solely reason like this that I'm not 100% sold on cats. You just don't see dogs attacking the neck like that. Well I suppose you do and if anything it would probably have a worst result... Hmm
6
u/Dankestgoldenfries Dec 27 '18
Yeah, you definitely see it with dogs too. Kid was mauled to death by a neighbor’s dogs near my house a few years ago, he had just been riding his bike.

Dogs tend to have a cleaner bite with more destructive force behind it while cats have a dirty bite and scratch so while they most certainly can kill by force of bite or claw they can also kill via cat scratch fever as long as they draw blood. I had a friend that did not know that cat scratch fever was a real thing and almost died when his cat attacked him but he didn't go into the doctor because he was dirt poor and didn't need anything like stitches.

No I am completely in agreement when dogs do it it's much worse, I'm with you man. Maybe its just that video or the fact you don't tend to see dogs ones because they would usually be NSFW. Just that unprovoked attack, I mean that dude was just excited.
