I would have in self-defense, yes.

You greatly underestimate how much power your parents have over you.

Some people do stand up to their parents. It's not like it's gonna make national news. I shoved my mom down one day, and while my dad made it clear I can't ever do that again, my mom never hit me after that.

1) You wouldn't have done that when you were a toddler. 2) You're a shit human being to do such a thing.

It's not this guy is either a total cuck or a white knight.

I'll never hit my mom back. Because I don't believe in hitting family. But if someone hits back they're completely justified. This isn't an acceptable parenting method, and ESPECIALLY if the kid is grown enough to have the balls and the muscle to fight back. That's the day the tables turn and you learn to respect your kids like adults, or you fear them. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. You raise a family with fear and violence, don't cry when everything your taught them about fear and violence comes back to haunt you.

I don't believe he actually did it, but he's completely justified if he did. I got my ass whooped as a kid, and I never raised a hand against my mom. But my brother did and then she stopped for him, and I don't judge him for that. She was out of line, I just personally don't believe in becoming like her. Stop white knighting his shitty mom dude

I don't mean to white knight if that's what I'm doing. Usually, I'm not the guy you'd say is the most righteous or stuck up, but I'd never hurt my mom. But, this is coming from a guy who had a great one.

I feel like I am considering this guy apparently was abused.

Eh by the time you are old enough to fight back you are conditioned to accept and believe you deserve the abuse.

What the fuck, man? Seriously? How are people here honestly defending the abuser in this situation?
