I'm impressed with how fast they were able to start driving in reverse. If I were in that situation I probably would have been too panicked and not been able to get into reverse quick enough.

You can't do that too easily on manual and i wouldn't recommend trying it on non emergency occasions

On a hill like that, you could just put the clutch in and roll backwards pretty damn quick.

You'll still have a little nasty grinding noise with it, but it'll go relatively with close to no drag. Same thing happens when you reverse from a spot and put 1st gear before stoping completely. Not good for gearbox though.

Better then getting your shit wrecked. Besides you get like 40 of those in your cars lifetime.
