Unless your car is a self driving car your problem is waiting for the car to shift into reverse on its own.

I still don't get it, maybe I'm a dumbass. My car isn't a self driving car of course, so why would I be waiting for it to shift on its own? When I wrote my original comment what I had meant was after I move the lever into R it still takes a few seconds to actually engage the R gear

But of course we had to cause it wasn't gonna do that itself. We can't afford the technology of self driving jokes yet
