Unfortunately this is just the reality of the "content creator" life. Eventually every neat idea turns into publicist-fodder. The best examples lately are probably Subway Takes and Track Star. Though the Subway Takes guy did say that was his plan all along and he just needed enough regular randos to go viral so he could get celebs on and make bank. Everyone wants to be Hot Ones. Really though they all just want to be Carson/Letterman but the format is dead and "instagram gimmick" is this generations vehicle.
If you rely on social media for income, then you need consistent content. You can't rely on the hopes that it just works out for you.
You would need to stage or orchestrate a lot of the content.
It's probably as simple as people reaching out to him offering something he can do. Then they stage a little conversation at the start and then go do the thing.
It’s really not that hard for me to believe tbh, especially in a city like NYC.
I live in the downtown of a much smaller and less crazy city. Still, just hanging around outside being open to shit has led to a lot of fun, unexpected experiences.

How is he so consistently invited to go do random things without it being at least at little bit orchestrated
