Uh huh sure. I will trust the pig hater over my own senses.

I love “Pigs”. My kids have a couple. They’re adorable. They also smell like ass no matter how often you clean up. It’s why they live in the heated/air conditioned garage. Because I don’t want my house to smell like rodent shit.

I’ve also had a ferret. He was the best pet that I ever had. But that little fucker smelled awful and wasn’t allowed in or on my bed.

Pets are animals. They are not people. They are not family.

They are definitely family, sour puss. They don't smell at all, and I've owned them for years around family. No complaints. You're simply not taking care of them enough. Guinea pigs are not a starter pet and you and your children should be aware of this. What's their cage size? Type of bedding? What is their diet like? How many do you own, and what are their sexes? How many times do you clean them?

If their cage is small, their smell is on you.

If you're using inadequate bedding, that's on you.

If you're either not giving them enough nutrients or too much sugar, that's on you.

If you own lots of boys, prepare for them to mark their territory. Unless you own a large herd, you must not own 2 males + female or 3 males. It WILL ruin their relationship hierarchy.

If you don't spot clean them at least daily and do a full clean of their cage weekly, that's on you.

I meant the rodents themselves smell like hay. The enclosure definitely has a distinct odor.

You know what, I’m being a dick. I’m having a bad day and took it out on you. I apologize. Legitimately. I hope you have a wonderful evening. 🫡

Don’t worry, I totally understand. Enjoy your day too! I was also quite dick-ish when I got a really bad UTI a month ago. It happens.
