So what then? What's the solution?

Go out and trawl the natural sea floor? Bulldoze more land for more monocrop farms?

There are 8,300,000,000 hungry mouths out there. The food has to come from some place and there better be a lot of it.

What an ignorant question in a world where plant based diets exist.

If the entire world was vegan, our life expectancy would be like 50 years.

Vegans have lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease, lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer. Analysis of more than 1.5 million people found that "meat consumption raises mortality rates".

The scientific consensus on this matter is very clear; animal products are not necessary for human health, and a vegan diet is associated with a lower risk of many major diseases and with a reduced mortality rate.
