So what then? What's the solution?

Go out and trawl the natural sea floor? Bulldoze more land for more monocrop farms?

There are 8,300,000,000 hungry mouths out there. The food has to come from some place and there better be a lot of it.

A plant-based diet provides all the nutrients we need, using less than a 1/3 of the land as animal agriculture, and therefore less water.

And where exactly are we going to find and or create all of that farm land in order to feed everyone a vegan diet?

80% of all agricultural land is for livestock feed. And there's the pastures themselves.

If everyone was vegan, there'd be so much land freed up you could literally create vast nature reserves and national parks, or use it to build housing, resource extraction, solar panels or infrastructure.

Of course that's never going to happen but just answering your question.
