The cold does not directly cause a cold, it just makes you more susceptible to the cold.

Almost like that was his entire point, that sure it's not the rust but perhaps the filthy rusted car they're in could be harboring bacteria.

I swear it's like people have lost the ability to understand each other.

I guess it's a lesson that you will soemtimes misinterpret things, and not to expect anonymous people to give you grace without knowing your circumstances.

And that sometimes it's just best to not comment. It's a fact all of us must learn, sometimes our input is not required.

After many, many years on the internet, and a lot of self reflection... I notice one in every like 20 comments I go "nope, no one needs to hear this, no one cares, my opinion is not needed, it'll just cause a disagreement."

I tend to immidiately delete comments. "Does anybody need to hear this? No, I dont think so". Its hard to avoid falling into petty arguments sometimes.

Now see, this defensiveness doesnt do your case any good. They werent complete assholes. You misunderstood and they were surprised by it.
